Chequamegon Bollinger
This raster image was created by Sam Falls for a brand
called Common Projects. Sam Falls is an artist living and working in Los
Angeles. His work explores ideas of time passing and the visual changes that
occur when trying to remember an image or a color.
I chose this image because it’s an interesting example of
reality manipulation using layers in Photoshop. He also uses a negative
technique to obscure the figure further. By adding different color transparency
layer the images becomes similar to a painting while keeping the photographic
realism. The perspective is also very interesting with the figure hiding behind
the cacti; it could be viewed as another layer.
